WHAT ARE DRIFTOPIA DAYS?
Driftopia drift expression sessions are a regular drift event held at circuits throughout the North Island of New Zealand.
Driftopia is New Zealand's Premier Club Drift Event, and has been since it began back in 2004, we have helped to grow the sport of drifting to what you know today, raising drivers such as, Carl Ruiterman, Matt Jackson, Kyle Jackways just to name a few!
Driftopia is owned and operated by Surge Promotions Ltd. The MotorSport New Zealand (MSNZ) affiliated car club, the New Zealand Drifting Association Inc.(NZDA), permits the event.
Driftopia is a clubsport event designed for drivers of all drift levels to get on track and have a full day of non-stop drifting, in a safe and controlled environment off the streets of New Zealand. These events allow drivers to gain the necessary skills to advance to competition level.
Driftopia caters for all drift levels with 4 types of drift classes, these classes are known as sessions.
This allows for a low-pressure environment as each driver is allocated a session according to driver ability. This ability is judged by how well a driver can control their vehicle and maintain a drift. As a driver increases their drifting ability, so does their chance at jumping up a drift class.
Competitors are also given the opportunity to be tutored by top competition drivers, tutors are allowed in vehicles and are there to give advice on driver technique along with vehicle setup; this is included in the entry fee. You do not need a cage to take a tutor in your vehicle
